Fresh appeal for unsolved murder of father-of-three
19th September 2014

On the 20th anniversary of Atek Hussain's death, his family and investigating detectives have joined forces in launching a new appeal in the form of a YouTube video.

In the early hours of Sunday 18 September 1994, Mr Hussain, who was also known as Shelim, was stabbed to death outside his home in Burnels Avenue, East Ham.

Despite the case having been investigated for a number of years, no one was brought to justice.

The father-of-three who was 32 at the time had spent the evening working at his family-run restaurant, before dropping off a couple of employees in Poplar, and then eventually returning to his home at around 2:35am.

It is believed he was attacked as he was getting out of his blue Vauxhall Cavalier and stabbed in the heart.

His family hope the YouTube video will encourage someone to come forward.
