World champion calls London parkour 'mecca'

The Parkour champion Marcus Gustafsson aka ‘Zyrken’ has been given the challenge to create a parkour trail in a city of his choice. He chose London! 

He plans to create a 12 hour course that runs through the  of London.

Parkour is a holistic training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training.

Practitioners aim to get from A to B in the most efficient way possible.

He joined Alex Beard on Wake Up London to explain how it works.

Zyrken also explained how parkour had steadily been gaining ground in London over the past few years and is now a 'mecca' for enthusiasts. 

He tells us how the city’s architecture has been perfect for running until he’s sore and how he’s jumped, flipped and ran right across the capital.
