Mike Read does his version of Calpyso for UKIP, denies racism
21st October 2014

Ex Radio 1 Mike Read sang the praises of Nigel Farage in his take on a calypso song, complete with a dodgy Jamacian accent.

While the content of the song may not be to everybody's taste, it is the accent which has drawn the most criticism. Many on twitter have described the performance as racist, an allegation Read denies.

Our Not The One Show panel discuss the song, the accent and whether Read may just be a huge calypso fan at heart.

Tonight, the Not The One Show panel were: Joe Watts, political correspondent for the Evening Standard, Toby Anstis, Heart FM broadcaster and Funmbi Omotayo, comedian.
