Former barrister Clare Wardle is known as a trailblazer for women within both retail and in the boardroom.
Having worked within a number of high profile organisations including the Post Office and Tube Lines, Clare joined Kingfisher in 2010 as Group General Counsel.
Kingfisher are Europe’s largest home improvement retail group.
Clare has played a leading role in many projects for the organisation, including the acquisition of Bricostore Romania.
Shortly after joining Kingfisher, Clare took it upon herself to launch the hugely successful Kingfisher Women’s Network. As a result, the Kingfisher network has grown, which has been attributed to the increase of senior women in Kingfisher. The organisation's management is presently 40% female.
Clare is keen ensure women from both in and outside her organisation can fulfill their potential. As this weeks 'Women Who' guest, she talks to Claudia-Liza Armah about the challenge of being a women in retail, raising children and double standards in the boardroom.
