City of London police latest organisation to back Boris’s Cycle Superhighway
3rd November 2014

Boris Johnson's controversial plans for a cycle route through the centre of London have gained a new backer - the City of London Police.

The force is the latest organisation to back the Mayor's scheme, which will create what is being called a 'cycling superhighway' running across the city.

However, many organisations have attacked the plans, saying they will cause even more congestion in the centre of London. The Evening Standard's Chief Reporter Ross Lydall explains what impact the highway will have on London, why it’s provoking such strong reactions and whether it will ever go ahead.
