Simon Read on avoiding mortgage fees, beating the Christmas retailers and why being a good neighbour is so important
4th November 2014

Simon explains slippery mortgage fees. Lenders have more than forty different fees and charges, often making it impossible to work out the best home loan deals - unless you know what to do. Simon gives his insight.

Simon also talks the ‘Good Neighbours Stop Rogue Traders’ campaign, which encourages everyone to keep an eye out for older and vulnerable members of our communities who are presently being targeted by criminals grossly overcharging for minimal work, sometimes robbing their victims of their life savings. The upshot? We all need to be more neighbourly.

Finally, Simon shares his tips for being clued up on retailer’s tricks. As the Christmas season approaches, shops will be pulling out the stops to make you spend more than you need to so be sure to make the most of your shopping. Make sure you’re aware of Section 75, which states credit card companies must give you your money back if something you buy on plastic is faulty. .
