Riot police on standby for Anonymous protest
5th November 2014

Riot police are on standby in parts of central London tonight as masked protesters threaten to march on the Houses of Parliament.

The annual bonfire night demonstration, known as the Million Mask March, is being staged by protest group Anonymous.

Protests will be held in hundreds of cities across the globe against mass surveillance, austerity and infringement of human rights.

The event has become associated with protesters donning the sinister Guy Fawkes mask, designed by Enfield born graphic novel artist David Lloyd, made famous by the 2005 film V for Vendetta.
