Stephen Fry quits Twitter

Stephen Fry is one of Twitter's most celebrated and prolific users, with nearly eight million followers to date.

But today he shocked the Twitterverse by quitting the social media site.

His final tweet was a farewell to followers, saying he won’t be back online until December because he is filming “in a place whence I've been advised it is safest not to tweet”.
