Gok Wan and Christopher Biggins join the Rainbow List celebrations

The Rainbow List is compiled by the Independent On Sunday to honour the LGBT people who make a difference to society.

Six judges spent nearly five hours debating how to reduce 4,390 heartfelt nominations, received over three weeks, down to 101 brilliant people.

Since last year there are three new entries.

Here’s the top 5:

1. Michael Chashman, Labour Party special envoy on LGBT issues worldwide.

2. Paris Lees, Journalist and campaigner.

3. Vicky Beeching, Religious commentator and musician.

4. Ruth Davidson, Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party.

5. Evan Davis, BBC Newsnight presenter.

There's a party in St Paul's tonight to celebrate those who made the list Luke Blackall was there.
