Sir Stephen Bubb on the failures of the big society
20th November 2014

Sir Stephen Bubb is the CEO Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations, known as AVECO.

As charity leaders criticise David Cameron’s vision of a ‘big society’, Sir Stephen explains why the concept is right but the practice has proven difficult as the idea went head to head with austerity.

As demand for charity services rises, cuts hitting them has had an increasingly detrimental impact.

Sir Stephen describes the cuts as “disproportionate”.

A new manifesto has been launched to outline the future for charities and their needs in a modern society.
