Unofficial Millwall FC message board rife with racism
21st November 2014

For months, racist and homophobic posts have been posted on to an unofficial Millwall Football Club message board, unedited and read by thousands.
Even Kick It Out, accustomed to seeing this sort of offensive language, were shocked.
Perhaps the worst thread involves posts hoping for an electrical fault to burn down a Muslim hotel full of guests. One reply says, “In fact I hope they have 20 to a room as it burns.”
Offensive posts are also made about gay people, referring to an away match at Brighton.
Another message picks on those keeping fans safe on matchday, saying the only good steward is a dead one.
The messages were on Vital Football, the top hit on Google for anyone typing “Millwall forum” into the search engine. London Live did this for a number of London clubs but found no board as offensive.
Vital have taken the site out of public view to investigate further. Privately, they are considering removing the Millwall section completely.
Anti-Racism charity Kick It Out told us that they will speak to the club about the posts. The football club has so far declined to comment.
