Chelsea real contenders for Champions League after thrashing Schalke
26th November 2014

Chelsea’s emphatic 5-0 win against Schalke on Wednesday has sent a real message of intent to the Blues’ European rivals.
Amar Singh, Digital Sports Editor of the London Evening Standard believes Jose Mourinho’s side look like real contenders for the Champions League after they thrashed the Bundesliga side.

Singh told Headline London: “Mourinho made just a few changes this summer, bringing in Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, which has left Chelsea looking really well balanced and formidable. They have gone 19 games unbeaten in all competitions and, to go to Gelsenkirchen and win so emphatically, sends out a real signal to other European teams.”

Arsenal face Borussia Dortmund tonight with Arsene Wenger facing plenty of scrutiny from the club’s supporters.
Singh added: “The manner of Arsenal’s defeat against a fairly weak Manchester United side on Saturday was demoralising and tonight is an opportunity for Wenger to silence some critics as a point seals Arsenal place in the last 16 of the Champions League.
