Londoners to spend more than £400 on Christmas gifts

Londoners are expected to spend an average of £404 each on Christmas gifts during December, with a quarter of us paying more than we did in 2013.

That's according to a Travelzoo survey given to London Live exclusively.

The research also claims two-thirds of people in the capital would rather receive tickets to a gig or a weekend break, over clothes and gadgets as a present.

Louise Hodges from Travelzoo explains how lots of Londoners plan on jetting off over the festive season, and how you are not alone in squabbling over what to watch on the box on the day.

Here’s how the figures break down.
