The gaudier the better: time to don your Christmas jumper

Everything from the tacky garments which would embarrass even Bridget's Mark Darcy to refined snowflake prints are taking off this year as Christmas jumpers seem to be at their most popular ever - and high street retailers are cashing in with dedicated Christmas jumper sections. 

Save the Children UK have launched their "Christmas Jumper Day", hoping to raise funds for their cause. 

Fashion writer Bel Jacobs joined Wake Up London to explain why Christmas jumpers are an unusually unrestricted fashion statement, where all rules are cast aside and anyone can - and should - get involved.
