Playout Pitch: Lánre

Lánre has released a new EP called ‘Home’.

She was born in Stoke-On-Trent, but that isn’t where she spent the majority of her childhood. At the age of four, she lived in the home of her family heritage, Nigeria.

Her first ever musical performance was at the age of eight on a Nigerian local radio station singing ‘Don’t do that to the poor pussy cat’, but she’s moved on a lot since then.

In 2002, Lánre joined the award winning UK collective GK REAL and that musical journey took her around the world singing and performing.

She joined The Evening Show to explain her musical journey, and to tell us where we can catch her next.
