The cast of Made in Dagenham celebrate a new equal pay law

A new law which would force big firms to reveal the pay gap between men and women has passed the first stage in Parliament.

MPs voted in favour of the move this afternoon, as the women who inspired the equality film Made in Dagenham joined celebrities outside Westminster to protest over the difference in pay.

Luke Blackall reports.

The broadcaster and journalist Ruth Barnes joined The Evening News to talk on if she can see this bill coming into force and if it would cause any problems to big firms.
