Britain was ‘days away’ from a Sydney-style siege

The Met Police Commissioner has revealed that a terror attack similar to the siege in Sydney was prevented just days before being carried out.

He said that there was "no doubt" that our city is harboring terrorists as dangerous as Man Haron Monis, the gunman who held up a café in Sydney.

Speaking on LBC, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, said five terror plots in London have been foiled over last four months and he said they are often prevented because of information from other criminals.

Mr Howe revealed that in the last month alone, five terror plots in London had been foiled.
