Country duo remake song on the England and Germany Christmas day truce

The country twin sister duo named Ward Thomas have recorded a new version of “In The Bleak Midwinter” to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Christmas Truce of 1914.
The release is accompanied by a video featuring archive footage from WW1 and photos from the actual truce football match that was held.
The sisters spoke about the truce saying:  “The truce shows us that even in bleak times when soldiers are under orders to shoot and kill each other, they could decide to lay down their weapons and meet in no man's land because of the spirit of Christmas.  It reveals an amazing bravery and presence of humanity on both sides. None of us want wars, but when they happen it is the people who fought and who now fight that are the ones who show their courage and deserve recognition. We recorded the single to honour them and to recognise the humanity of the ones that took part in the truce.”
Part of the profits from the track will be shared equally by the London Live Homeless Veterans Appeal.
