Children orphaned by Ebola estimated at 4,000

It's estimated that 4,000 children were orphaned in West Africa this year because of Ebola.

Some say that the number is closer to 7,000.

Melqosh Misson is a charity based in both London and Sierra Leone. The charity has spent several years working to aid the victims of the war in Sierra Leone, in particular amputee victims and their families. The current Ebola outbreak has devastated many communities in Sierra Leone and as a result Melqosh Mission has decided to focus their fundraising efforts this month on aiding children who have lost their families to the disease.

The founder of the charity is Faith Okrafo-Smart who joined Headline London along with actress and charity ambassador Ellen Thomas.
