London population is higher than ever

Latest figures reveal that London's population is at its biggest ever.

The number of people living in the city is higher than its peak in 1939, with 8,615,000 inhabitants.

The man revealing these figures in today's Evening Standard is the consumer business editor, Jonathan Prynn, who joined Headline London to explain what this will mean for the city.
