Gay couple thrown out of an Uber taxi

A gay couple claim they were thrown out of an Uber taxi in Covent Garden last week after kissing and cuddling each other.

Corey Watts and Jordan Sloan say they were left shocked by the driver's reaction.

The cab company have now launched an investigation and the driver has since been suspended.


Oxford Street already reached it’s air pollution maximum for the year

We're only six days in to the new year, but Oxford Street has already exceeded levels of nitrogen dioxide pollution that are set for the whole of 2015.

According to King’s College London, the busy shopping area exceeded the national allowances on 19 occasions.

Last year, Brixton Road in South London exceeded the hourly limit on more than 1700 times in 2014. 


Sarah Ferguson speaks out in support for ex-husband Prince Andrew

The Duke of York, who is accused of having sex with an underage girl, has been called ‘the best man in the world’ by his ex-wife.

It's the first time Sarah Ferguson has spoken out since the allegations against Prince Andrew surfaced. 

Scotland Yard say they've not received a complaint in relation to the case but will investigate if an allegation is made.


Trapped passengers cause overcrowding at London Bridge

A number of rail commuters were faced with severe over crowding at London Bridge station last night.

Engineering works, which will be taking place over the coming months brought the station to a stand-still.

It's thought commuters became trapped outside ticket barriers, resulting in trains leaving the platforms without passengers.


British nurse being treated for Ebola in London has stabilised

A British nurse who was diagnosed with Ebola has now stabilised but remains in a critical condition.

Pauline Cafferkey is being treated at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead.

She caught the deadly virus while working as a medical volunteer in Sierra Leone.

£100K classic car stolen in Chelsea

Police are appealing for witnesses after a rare classic car worth an estimated £100,000 was stolen in Chelsea.

The theft happened on Christmas Eve. The owner of the 1955 blue convertible Austin Healey said he'd been restoring the car for several months previously.


Councils face big pot hole bill

Councils across England are facing bills of up to 100 million pounds to complete huge backlogs of repairing the country's pot holes.

It comes after it was revealed how six billion pounds of government money will be spent on improving England's roads in the next six years.

London has received enough funding to repair almost 170 thousand pot holes across the capital.


Californian company plans to soft-land a rocket at sea

Usually once a rocket has made it’s journey into space the equipment is disregarded, however one Californian company is trying to change that.

SpaceX is planning to create a soft-landing platform out at sea, in the Atlantic, just off the coast of Florida.

If it works it will be a revolution in launch costs. At the moment the company says there will be a 50/50 chance it will work.


London teams fight to stay in the FA Cup

The third round of the FA Cup continued last night with more London clubs battling to stay in the competition. AFC Wimbledon lost 2-1 against Liverpool. 

The northern team will be pleased with the result this morning, it's payback for when they lost against Wimbledon in the FA Cup final in 1988.

Meanwhile, Tottenham live to die another day after they drew 1:1 with Burnely FC. After a quiet first half, Tottenham took the lead in the 56th minute but the Lancashire side equalised 16 minutes later. The two teams will play again next Tuesday.


Star of The Voice to replace Scherzinger in Cats the musical

Nicole Scherzinger will be replaced by The Voice contestant Kerry Ellis as Grizabella in Cats after the musical has had its West End run extended.

It was initially supposed to end on February 28th but will now go on to show until April 25th.

Nicole's last performance will be on February 7th and Kerry Ellis will begin on the 9th.
