The foods on trend in 2015

We’ve just moved into the new year, and getting our heads around it being 2015 - but Dr Morgaine Gaye is already considering what will be happening in 2018… on our plates.

Dr Gaye is a food futurologist, which means she predicts the food trends of the future.

So while most people will be thinking about what they will rustle up for dinner tonight, she is considering what the food markets will be in years to come.

Food can be a great indicator of society, and in her research Dr Gaye involves society, geo-politics, culture, history, fads, and marketing to get the wider picture.

Futurology is interesting to foodies who what to know what the next ‘halloumi’ or  ‘cronut’ will be, and it helps bigger food brands get a wider picture of the market.

She joined Headline London to give her predictions.
