Abu Hamza sentenced to life imprisonment

Radical Islamic preacher Abu Hamza has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a New York court.

The 56-year-old was found guilty of trying to establish an al-Qaeda training camp in Oregon and for aiding kidnappers who held tourists hostage in Yemen in 1998. Recent reports indicate security services believe Hamza mentored two of the suspects involved in the Charlie Hebdo killings.

Hamza, full name Mustafa Kamel Mustafa, once led the Finsbury Park Mosque. He was extradited from the UK in 2012.
