BP to announce job cuts
Oil giant BP is expected to announce job losses at its North Sea operation.
Staff in Scotland are likely to be briefed later about cuts in line with a review of the company’s operations.
The cuts come amid falling oil prices.
BP employs about 4,000 people in Scotland and a further 11,000 elsewhere in the country.
Crashing oil prices see petrol sold for less than £1 a litre
Falling oil prices are not bad news for everyone.
Consumers are now feeling the benefit as the price fall is starting to come through to the pumps.
The four major supermarkets have all cut the price of petrol.
This week, a station in Birmingham was also selling petrol for less than £1 a litre.
