Boyhood star Ellar Coltrane ‘open’ to idea of follow-up film

He dedicated 12 years of his life to acting in one film.

But Boyhood star Ellar Coltrane said he is “open” to doing a follow-up film.

He told London Live: “I understood to an extent what I was doing when I was six.

“But there’s no way to grasp how long 12 years is or what you’re really getting yourself into.”

He added: “We would like to continue, there’s nothing official yet but we’re open to it.”

The 20-year-old, who plays Mason Evans Jr, said no one expected the popularity of the film, which is set to be released on DVD today.

He said: “It’s really important to us but we didn’t expect other people to necessarily understand it in the same way.

“It’s surprising but it’s wonderful.”
