The Sun scrap topless models on Page 3

Topless models featuring on Page 3 of the Sun could a thing of the past, according to the Times.

The newspaper, which has the same publisher as the Sun, said Friday’s edition of the tabloid would be the last to carry images of topless women.

But the report added the Sun would continue to publish the pictures online.

It follows a high profile campaign to scrap Page 3.

Lissy Cunningham was the final model to grace the page, stemming from a long tradition of shots dating back to 1970.

Page 3 has always been criticised in the past by women’s rights groups saying it questioned women’s equality.

Yas Necati, from the No More Page 3 campaign, explains more.
