TED Talks in Bethnal Green to explore Society Beyond Borders

The Oval Space in Bethnal Green will play host to TEDxEastEnd for a one-day event that explores ‘Society Beyond Borders.’

Live speakers, performers and pre-recorded TED talks will explore the relationships between identity and borders, and looks to demonstrate how global mobility of both people and of ideas can shape society.

The organiser of the event, Maryam Pasha, said:

“TEDx events are an extraordinary opportunity for people to come together and exchange ideas worth sharing, which would often be outside of their normal conversations.”

Artist John Dolan and his dog George joined Wake Up London to explain a little more about the event.

Dolan, who has been homeless at various points over the previous two decades and spent time in and out of prison, spent every day of three years sat on Shoreditch High Street capturing the world around him.

Both his experiences and his art demonstrate how so much of London - both buildings and people - can go ignored by many.
