Businesses make their voice heard ahead of the General Election
27th January 2015

With the general election only 100 days away, businesses in London are speaking up about their present concerns and what they hope from the next government.

Katharine Howell, from the London Chamber of Commerce, joined Wake Up London to explain the demands businesses have – which include a need for affordable housing. Ms Howell says the capital needs more developers and more developments in order that potential employees aren’t driven away from London.

She also explains what pressures businesses are facing and the areas they may need support in. It comes as 59% of businesses say they face pressure to increase wages and 42% struggle to recruit and retail skilled workers.
