London welcomes ‘official guest of honour’ Adaeze Uyanwah

Adaeze Uyanwah, a 24-year-old teacher from California, won a competition to be named London’s Guest of Honour and is embarking on a “trip of a lifetime” that will see her tour the Science Museum with Professor Stephen Hawking and open Tower Bridge.

She began her trip with a tour of the All-England Club, which hosts Wimbledon, accompanied by former tennis player Tim Henman.

Adaeze, a self-confessed Anglophile, said she loved the UK for its “incredible history.” She will spend a total of 15 days in the capital and said she is particularly excited to have lunch with English chef Jason Atherton.
