Amid reports of a marriage split, model Jodie Kidd has admits she has fallen head over heels for a 53-year-old… except this 53-year-old is a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder. The gorgeous vehicle is worth a reported £10 million.
The other week Jodie Kidd was launching herself down a variety of cold surfaces in The Jump, but that can’t have been as knee-wilting as taking the wheel of a £10 million Ferrari California Spyder, where the excess would set you back a nice 40-bedroomed chateau.
Slick and classy, there’s not a single dirty fingernail on the wheel of her new vehicle The Classic Car Show (Thursday 7pm, Channel 5), which is co-driven by the equally smooth Quentin Willson, who larks about with a Ford Mustang in a Bullit-proof test.
Our TV editor Toby Earle spoke to Kidd about how the body reacts to driving a vehicle worth more than ten million 99p shops, her all-time favourite Bond cars, and how she fell in love with a 53-year-old Italian. She hasn’t just fallen in love, either – Kidd admits she’d marry this one.
Ms Kidd sat down with London Live’s TV Editor Toby Earle to explain how she “literally fell in love with a car” after seeing a California Spider in a friend’s garage. She laughingly describes the engine note as “my heartbeat.”
