London’s best Policeman wins award

London's best police officers have today been recognised as part of a ceremony in the Capital.

Among those collecting honours was PC Nicholas Lloyd, who was named ‘Police Officer of the Year.’

PC Lloyd caught more criminals than any other officer, amounting to 155 arrests in the Haringey Borough of London.

He told London Live that a good policeman has to be, “honest, brave and completely committed to what he is doing 24-seven.”

Another award winner was Nathan Brennan, who disarmed a young man saving a woman in an attack in a tower block - for this he took home the Bravery Award.

However he did make light of the event saying that although these crimes can be terrifying and they work in extremely dangerous situations, there are quiet days where they can just “sit and enjoy a cup of tea.”

London Live’s Maleena Pone was at the awards.
