Open Barbers: genderless hairdressing

Open Barbers is simply a hairdressing salon – but a salon who are explicit that they cater to everyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

The team say their aim is just to be “as kind and respectful as possible” to anyone who walks through the door.

Greygory Vass, a co-director at the barbers, says a lot of their clients “come to Open Barbers feeling quite refreshed that not only will they be welcomed into the space but they’ll also be given the haircut that’s as short as they want it and the finish is just as they would like it – without it being questioned or for them to be made to feel like that’s unusual for their gender.”
