1 in 20 will not leave house because it's Friday the 13th

Research suggests that 1 in 20 people will not leave the house today, Friday 13, because it's deemed to be so unlucky.

The figures come from a survey conducted by Grosvenor Casinos.

Their research showed that despite only a fifth of us ever experiencing bad luck on Friday 13th, around 25 per cent of people will make changes to their daily routine to try to avoid bad luck.

This fear even has a name, Paraskevidekatriaphobia.  Bizarrely, the condition is on the rise with 37 per cent of 18-29 year-olds suffering from it.
