UKIP-Conservative coalition only on the cards if a EU referendum called early

The leader of UKIP says his party would only be willing to form a coalition with the Conservatives, if David Cameron agreed to an early referendum on Britain's involvement in Europe.

Nigel Farage wants the UK to leave the EU and go it alone. Speaking on LBC this morning, the UKIP Leader has ruled out any political cooperation with Labour as “they have turned their backs on the idea” of a referendum.

In the event of there being no outright winner after the General Election, he said his party would consider doing power deals so long as UKIP’s “red line” of an early referendum “conducted on the right terms.”

Currently the bookies odds of a Conservative and UKIP government are 16 to one.
