Brian the horse doesn’t make the cut in police tests

Men called Brian celebrated last week when a horse joining the police force was able to keep his name.

The horse’s name was considered to bee too ‘sissy’ for such a noble beast, towering at 6ft, by Thames Valley Police, who were apparently considering more ‘war-like’ names such as Hercules or Caesar.

This triggered a campaign by Brians over the country to put pressure on them to make to keep their name which caused the police to make a U-turn on their decision.

But it turns out that the campaign was futile.

After the horse made headlines over it’s name row it went on to carry out police trials, however he didn’t make the cut. Police said "didn't settle to an urban environment and was nervous".

Brian will now be safely returned to his owners. Thames Valley Police tweeted the news, saying “always look on the bright side.”
