Solid gold iPhone? Apple may be getting a luxury re-brand

Apple’s Senior Vice-President Sir Jonathan Ive has sparked rumours of a luxury re-brand of the company in the UK.

In an interview in the New Yorker, Sir Jonathan made reference to how the new shop would weed out the tourists and truants that currently inhabit the stores.

The re-design is yet to be officially announced, however red carpet VIP areas, hi-tech displays and solid gold products said to be being considered.

This change is thought to have come since the Apple stores, who were once number one, didn’t even make the top ten on the list of Britain’s of favourite shops, in a survey conducted by Which?

The main complaints of the shops were the long queues and wait to get to the availability of the Genius Bar slots.
