Britain's only Muslim drag queen stands up for Muslim gay rights

Last July, a Harley Street doctor jumped to his death from his West Hampstead penthouse after his Muslim mother told him to cure himself of being gay.

This weekend his partner is joining others from the LGBT community in an eight-day walk from London and Birmingham, in an attempt to raise awareness of homophobia against Asian Muslims.

Taking part in the walk is Asif Quraishi, Britain's only out Muslim drag queen who joined London Live News to explain more about the cause.

Correction: London Live previously inaccurately stated that Nazim Mahmood suffered from mental health issues.
