Mayfair squatters win first round of legal battle

Squatters occupying a grand building in one of London’s most exclusive areas have won the first round of a legal battle with a landlord.

Property firm Quintain, which owns the lease to the building in Mayfair, asked a court to grant it possession and evict the squatters.

But the court adjourned the hearing giving the 40 squatters an extension to seek legal advice opposing the possession.
