The London Assembly Environment Committee have launched an investigation into the use of solar energy in London homes by visiting a community-led solar energy project at Roupell Park estate in Brixton. The project is run by Brixton Energy, a not-for profit co-operative based in south London that creates community owned renewable energy projects. It's a unique scheme helping to tackle fuel poverty by generating low-cost electricity for residents, while also providing training and employment for local people to install and maintain solar panels used on the estate.
