Future in doubt for Crystal Palace National Sports Centre

The Crystal Palace National Sports Centre has been in south London for more than 50 years but it's future is in doubt.

New reports published by the GLA about athletics in the capital in the coming years makes no mention of keeping indoor training facilities at the venue - an omission that has concerned many in the Athletics community.

John Powell, the Chair of Crystal Palace Sports Partnership, explains more.

The GLA said in a statement: "The Mayor wants to secure a long term future for the Sports Centre, and to secure the new investment it very clearly requires.

Discussions continue to take place with the key players involved in the sports centre including local clubs, community groups and political bodies; and work on developing proposals that can help safeguard the future of the centre continues, but no final plan has been agreed."
