Mass burial grave uncovered during Crossrail dig

As the Crossrail project digs for the future of London’s transport system, it has been uncovering mysteries of the past.

A mass burial grave has been found during tunneling, with The Great Plague being the possible cause.

This find was part of a wider dig though a 500 year-old cemetery under Liverpool Street Station.

We spoke to archaeologists who are documenting all of the 3,500 skeletons in the area.
