Housing campaigners protest outside Olympia

Housing campaigners, tenants, trade unions and community activists protested to #StopMipim, as the global real estate fair opened this year’s property show at West London's Olympia.

It's aiming to draw attention to what they believe is private developers, local councils and politicians doing secretive deals to sell off public land and assets - often at rock-bottom prices.

In a statement to London Live, MIPIM UK said:

“MIPIM UK is mindful of the importance of affordable housing and of the current housing issues facing London and the UK. MIPIM UK respects the rights of individuals to express opinions on this and other subjects."
