Man dies after police shooting in Wood Green

One man has died after being shot by police during a pre-planned intelligence led operation. 

Officers from the Met Police Organised Crime and Firearms units arrested four men during the operation. 

Two were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to facilitate the escape of an individual from lawful custody, while two others were arrested on related charges. 

During the operation a man was shot by a police officer at around 09:30am. 

The London Air Ambulance attended the scene, and paramedics provided medical assistance on the ground, but the man was pronouced dead an hour and a half later.

The shooting is now under investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
