Recyling rates in London are falling

The rate of recycling across London councils are falling.

According to figures released by the Department for Food, Environment and Rural Affairs, 21 out of 32 boroughs have seen a drop in their household waste sent for reuse, recycling or composition from the previous year.

Bexley borough is the best at recycling such waste at a current rate of 54% but Lewisham is the worst at only 17%. However, both councils have seen a slight drop from the year before.

Funmi Olutoye has the story.
