Tate Modern's Switch House opens

The world's most popular contemporary art gallery has taken the wraps of its multi-million pound revamp.

Tate Modern's new extension the Switch House is a pyramid-like tower that's been in the pipeline for around a decade.

The new wing is 10-storeys high and includes an area at the bottom reserved for performance art, plus a viewing platform at the top with 360 degree views of the city.

Curators say the museum will now have a bigger focus on international work and women artists.
