Olympic Park sculpture becomes a slide

It's the new attraction destined to bring out the kid in all of us.

Measuring 178m, this is Europe's tallest and longest tunnel slide at speeds of up to 15mph.

The Slide is made up of 30 separate sections that twist and turn 12 times - including a tight corkscrew section known as the 'bettfeder' (German for bedspring) - before opening up into a 50 metre straight run to the ground. This is a unique collaboration between two contemporary artists, Anish Kapoor - architect of the ArcelorMittal Orbit itself - and Carsten Höller, who has previously designed a number of high-profile slides around the globe.

The slide opens up to the public on Friday 24th June.
