Islington family say life is made hell by traffic jams outside their home

A family from North London claim that a new set of traffic lights installed by the council 18 months ago means that there is a 24 hour traffic jam outside their home.

Now Ewa Idzik is petitioning Islington council to move quickly on removing the lights and reinstate the old pedestrian crossing.

In response to this report Cllr Claudia Webbe, Islington Council's executive member for environment and transport, said:

"The interim changes we made last year proved to be premature without the wider overhaul, and having monitored the situation since and listened to feedback, we are now in the process of removing the current arrangement with help from TfL, which owns the traffic signals."
