Russell Henderson, a carnival pioneer

A Londoner hailed as inspiration, who played a key role in starting the Notting Hill Carnival is the subject of a new documentary.

Russell Henderson was an acclaimed jazz pianist and steel pan player who came to the capital from the Caribbean island of Trinidad.

His life is being celebrated in a film by Rosita Lynch called Notting Hill Carnival Pioneer.
