Eco Social Housing Launched in Redbridge

A group of families in Redbridge, east London have moved into the borough's first eco friendly social housing.

As part of its affordable rent housing development programme, Redbridge Council has developed three state-of-the-art 2-bedroom houses on Purleigh Avenue.

They are the first "Passivhaus" buildings in the borough, which use very little energy for heating and cooling.

Redbridge is piloting the scheme which aims to cut utility bills by 90 per cent.
