Ealing and Charing Cross set to be downgraded to 'local' hospital status

A meeting will take place tonight over changes to health services in North West London. The NHS set out plans in December to make 500 million pounds worth of cuts at Ealing hospital - that could include the end of critical care, blue light ambulances and all surgery. Charing Cross in Fulham could also be downgraded to a local hospital. Heatlh bosses say the money saved will be reinvested into the area - however the plans have faced strong opposition. Dr Aysha Raza is an Ealing councillor and she joined Anthony Baxter to explain more.
